Universal Motors Ghana limited, sole authorized distributor of Volkswagen (VW) vehicles in Ghana, has launched the new Volkswagen Passat onto the local market.
With over 15 million cars sold, the new Volkswagen Passat is one of the most successful automobiles in the world. The styling of the bestseller was completely re-interpreted with many new safety and comfort technologies previously only seen in the Touareg and Phaeton luxury models.
The new model of the Volkswagen Passat is powerful but environmentally friendly. Both the new Passat and Passat Variant consume less fuel, thanks to a range of engines that are nearly 10% more fuel efficient.
Redefined power, an expression of advanced engineering skills and standard applies to every engine in the new Passat. Exceptional torque, effortless acceleration with automatic i.e. Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) that electronically controls gear selection using two clutch systems. This produces unbroken acceleration, smooth power delivery and safer driving.
Launching the new Passat in Accra last week, the Deputy Minister of Health, Rojo Mettle Nunoo, urged the company to continue to provide affordable and quality cars for the Ghanaian populace as well as the guarantee the timely provision of spare parts.
Speaking to the Managing Director of Universal Motors, Subhi Accad, he said the new Passat is designed to meet the toughest of safety tests for driver and passenger, adding it is equipped with a total of six airbags as standard, “it is no wonder that the new Passat has a 5-star Euro NCAP Safety Rating”.
On his part, the Sales Manager of Universal Motors- Ghana, Andrew Agyekum Peasah, said the new Passat can be fitted with an automatic fatigue detection system that monitors the driver's inputs and automatically emits an audible and visual warning to recommend a break if required. It also has traction and braking control systems as standard to help keep you firmly on the tarmac.
“The overall range of technological innovations now implemented in the Passat trend line (entry level), Passat Comfort line (mid-level) and Passat High line (top level) has reached a scale previously found only in the upper and luxury class cars,” he further stated
