Universal motors unveils the new Passat

Universal Motors Ghana limited, sole authorized distributor of Volkswagen (VW) vehicles in Ghana, has launched the new Volkswagen Passat onto the local market.

With over 15 million cars sold, the new Volkswagen Passat is one of the most successful automobiles in the world. The styling of the bestseller was completely re-interpreted with many new safety and comfort technologies previously only seen in the Touareg and Phaeton luxury models.

The new model of the Volkswagen Passat is powerful but environmentally friendly. Both the new Passat and Passat Variant consume less fuel, thanks to a range of engines that are nearly 10% more fuel efficient.

Redefined power, an expression of advanced engineering skills and standard applies to every engine in the new Passat. Exceptional torque, effortless acceleration with automatic i.e. Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) that electronically controls gear selection using two clutch systems. This produces unbroken acceleration, smooth power delivery and safer driving.

Launching the new Passat in Accra last week, the Deputy Minister of Health, Rojo Mettle Nunoo, urged the company to continue to provide affordable and quality cars for the Ghanaian populace as well as the guarantee the timely provision of spare parts.

Speaking to the Managing Director of Universal Motors, Subhi Accad, he said the new Passat is designed to meet the toughest of safety tests for driver and passenger, adding it is equipped with a total of six airbags as standard, “it is no wonder that the new Passat has a 5-star Euro NCAP Safety Rating”.

On his part, the Sales Manager of Universal Motors- Ghana, Andrew Agyekum Peasah, said the new Passat can be fitted with an automatic fatigue detection system that monitors the driver's inputs and automatically emits an audible and visual warning to recommend a break if required. It also has traction and braking control systems as standard to help keep you firmly on the tarmac.

“The overall range of technological innovations now implemented in the Passat trend line (entry level), Passat Comfort line (mid-level) and Passat High line (top level) has reached a scale previously found only in the upper and luxury class cars,” he further stated

EB-ACCION DISBURSES US$15 MILLION

Amantin & Kasei Community Bank posts impressive growth, with over GH¢1m profit

 Amantin and Kasei Community Bank, at Amantin in the Bono East Region has posted impressive growth in all the performance indicators during 2022 financial year under review. The bank recorded profit after tax of GH¢1,055,662, representing 35.66% more over the 2021 figure of GH¢778.151. This achievement stemmed out of 49.24% gross income growth from GH¢8,143,526 to GH¢12,153,537. Total deposits of the bank went up by 36.20%, changing from GH¢50,959,848 in 2021 to GH¢69,405,591 in 2022. The bank increased loans and advances by 22.15% from GH¢14,128,017 to GH¢17,257,614. Total assets showed an appreciation of 29.32%, amounting to GH¢77,918,288 as against GH¢60,250,693 in the previous year. On the other hand, the bank posted a marginal increase in short term investments portfolio from GH¢24,439,761 to GH¢26,585,698, indicating 8.78% change.
