Lemon, the best medicine.

By Charlotte Yayra ADZANU
A cleansed body is a clean blood and a healthy life but accumulation of waste in the body, pollutes the mind, the blood and even the soul and spirit.
Staying days without visiting the washroom can result in constipation which is the root of many sicknesses today. Anyone who doesn’t take juice lemon is at higher risk of having constipation.

Just as old Ghanaian ladies knew lemon only for polishing buckets and cooking utensils, so today many are using it to cleanse and polish their bodies.
There are many valuable nutrients in lemon, including vitamin A, C and D. Calcium, phosphorus, sulphur and iron are also found in lemon.
Lemon is a wonderful stimulant to the liver and is a dissolvent of uric acid and other poisons, liquefies the bile, and is very good in cases of malaria. It cleanses the body, provides it with a swealth of vitamins, minerals, and improves its acid alkali pH balance.

Drinking lemon juice nourishes the brain and nerve cells, building up the bony structure and enhancing healthy teeth as it contains potassium.
Lemon juice is very good for treating common colds and flu, it is also helpful in dealing with scarlet fever, and chest infections of all kinds. People who suffer chronic rheumatism will benefit by taking lemon juice.
When lemon juice is taken during pregnancy, it helps build bone in the child due to its calcium elements.

It helps treat and prevent heartburns and also helps with indigestion. Lemon juice can be used to treat intestinal bacteria, constipation, upset stomach, and bloating as well.
Lemon juice is more effective when taken with honey and warm water. Dilute the lemon juice with a half glass of warm water , add two teaspoonful of honey and sip slowly first thing each morning and last thing each night before going to bed. This is the best way to use lemon and appreciate its effectiveness.
