Donewell Life Assurance rebrands to Pinnacle Life Insurance: A new era of excellence

Donewell Life  Assurance has rebranded to “Pinnacle Life Insurance” to provide superior life  insurance policies and exceptional customer experiences.

At the official unveiling ceremony held in Accra, Board Chairman Michael Mba Allan emphasized that the transformation reflects a shift toward enhanced digital service offerings designed to improve client satisfaction.

At Pinnacle Life, we are committed to improving insurance penetration in Ghana and promoting financial inclusion. We aim to bring security, peace of mind, and prosperity right to the fingertips of every Ghanaian," Allan stated.

"But Pinnacle Life is more than just a brand; it is a community—a family dedicated to our clients’ well-being, happiness, and financial stability,” he added.

Eric Ato Botchwey, Managing Director of Pinnacle Life Insurance, outlined the company’s goal of making life insurance accessible to all Ghanaians.

What we aim to achieve is to demystify the notion that life insurance is only for the rich and wealthy. It’s about creating financial security for yourself and your loved ones," he explained.

"We are introducing more products that cater to the diverse needs of Ghanaians across the country."

With its new identity, Pinnacle Life Assurance continues to uphold its reputation for excellence, reliability, and building genuine relationships with clients. The rebranding underscores the company’s mission to bring greater protection, more joy, and peace of mind to its customers.

Background of Pinnacle Life Insurance

Previously known as Donewell Life Assurance, the company has a rich history in Ghana’s insurance industry. It was incorporated on November 3, 1988, under the Companies Code 1963 (Act 179) as a mutual insurance company owned by the Methodist Church Ghana.

Granted a license to operate as a composite insurer by the National Insurance Commission (NIC) on February 28, 1993, the company commenced business on March 1, 1993. For over 15 years, Donewell Life sold both life and non-life insurance products within the Ghanaian market.

In compliance with the Insurance Act of 2006 (Act 724), the Life Division of Donewell Insurance Company Limited became a fully-fledged life assurance company on January 1, 2008, operating under the name Donewell Life Company Limited.

The rebranding to Pinnacle Life Insurance marks a new chapter in the company’s journey, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and excellence in Ghana’s insurance industry.
