Beyond COVID-19: Accra Chamber of Commerce launches website to promote businesses

As part of measures to counter the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on business activities in Ghana, the Greater Accra Regional branch of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has launched a new website to showcase and promote the businesses of its members.

Speaking to Citi Business News, the Chairman of the Accra Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Nana Kwame Agyenim Boateng, called on business owners in Accra to take advantage of the initiative by using the platform to promote their products and services.

He said the website, accrachamber.org, will showcase all ACCI-registered businesses under different categories as well as all activities and programmes organised by the chamber during and after the COVID-19 crisis.

He called on the public to visit the website for official communication regarding ACCI, as well as details about listed businesses and their contact information.

He admitted that the outbreak of COVID-19 in Ghana has had an adverse effect on businesses, resulting in the closure of many, especially in companies in the hospitality industry.

He assured ACCI members that the leadership of the chamber is working together with African Aurora Business Network (AABN) and MASLOC to assist its members to secure funds to support their businesses through the period of the pandemic.

The launch of the ACCI web portal, which was held live on popular video conferencing platform, Zoom, was also used to encourage entrepreneurs to make their business models flexible to embrace change and utilise new technological innovations to reach emerging markets.
