The “new normal” has taken a further
step towards entrenching itself as companies are now resorting to digital platforms
to hold Annual General Meetings (AGM).
Databank Group and Total Petroleum Ghana
Limited have both issued notices to their respective shareholders about their impending
virtual AGMs.
According to a release from Total copied
to Busineweekghana.com
“the 44th Annual General Meeting of the Shareholders of Total Petroleum Ghana
Limited will be held VIRTUALLY and streamed live by video link from the Head
office of Total Petroleum Ghana Limited on Wednesday,15th July, 2020
at 11:00am”
It further added that “In compliance
with the current restrictions on public gatherings in force pursuant to the
imposition of Restrictions Act, 2020 (Act 1012) and consequent Regulatory
Directives, attendance and participation by all members and/or their proxies in
this year’s Annual General Meeting of the Company shall be strictly virtual
(i.e. by online participation).”
The notice from Databank said “You are
cordially invited to the 2019 AGM of Databank’s Mutual Funds to be held
virtually on zoom on July 14&15”.
“Please note that to participate in this year’s AGM, you
are required to pre-register by clicking on the registration link for the fund,”
it added.
You can register to be part of
meetings for as many funds as you hold shares in; however, you will need your account
number to register. Once you register, you will receive a
confirmation email with the Zoom link to be used on the day of the meeting.
Total intends to use a special
resolution to amend the Company’s Regulations/Constitution to accommodate the
holding of Annual General Meetings by electronic or virtual means where the
Directors deem it necessary to do so.
According to Total, a unique token
number will be sent to shareholders by email and/or SMS from 23rd June, 2020 to
give them access to the meeting.
To gain access to the Virtual AGM,
shareholders must visit http://totalghana-agm.com/ and input their unique token
number on Wednesday, 15th July 2020.
