Zoomlion disinfects military facilities in Kumasi


Waste management expert, Zoomlion Ghana Limited, has disinfected more than 3,000 military facilities in the Ashanti Region, General Manager of the company, Philip Yeboah Asante, has disclosed.

The exercise, he said, is to ensure that officers are not exposed to the novel coronavirus, which has so far infected more than 12,000 people and killed 58 in the country.

Yeboah Asante, who supervises the Ashanti Region West division of the company made this known to journalists after the company undertook a disinfection exercise at the Headquarters of the military Central Command and Uaddara Barracks among others in Kumasi on Tuesday. The disinfection exercise lasted for two days.

“We have so far disinfected more than 3,000 military facilities. And we appreciate the support of the military in ensuring a successful exercise,” Asante noted.

Asante appealed to the authorities that to ensure that the virus is properly controlled, Zoomilion should be given the nod to undertake another disinfection exercise in at least three months time this is because disinfection should be done quarterly to guarantee maximum results. “The practise is that every quarter there should be disinfection and fumigation so after three months we should be given the nod to come and fumigate again,” he appealed.

The company has also disinfected many public places including market centres, lorry parks, Senior High Schools, Universities among others.
