US-Based Doctor Supports Weija Leprosarium, Underprivileged Children In Ankaase With Cash & Food Items

In a remarkable display of philanthropy, US-based medical practitioner, Dr. Kofi Kyei Sarfo, and the Sarfo family have made significant donations to support vulnerable communities in Ghana.

During his visit to Ghana for the Christmas and New Year festivities, Dr. Sarfo and his family donated assorted food items and $5,000 to the Weija Leprosarium in Accra. This generous act aims to improve the lives of the inmates and support the tireless efforts of Rev. Father Andrew Campbell, founder of the Lepers Aid Committee.

The donation to the Weija Leprosarium is a testament to Dr. Sarfo's commitment to giving back to his community.

He praised Rev. Father Andrew Campbell for his selfless work in integrating cured lepers into society, emphasizing the need for continued support to ensure the well-being of the inmates.

Dr. Sarfo encouraged others to follow in his footsteps, stating that every donation, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in the lives of the inmates.

The donation was received by Rev. Father Andrew Campbell, who expressed his gratitude to Dr. Sarfo and his family. Father Campbell emphasized that giving brings fulfillment and happiness, and encouraged others to support the Leprosarium's efforts to improve the lives of its inmates.

In addition to the donation to the Weija Leprosarium, Dr. Sarfo and the family also distributed 750 packages of food to underprivileged children in Ankaase, in the Afigya Kwabre South District in the Ashanti region. This charitable act highlights the Sarfo family's commitment to community welfare and his desire to bring joy to children in rural communities who often go without hearty meals.

Dr. Sarfo emphasized the importance of good nutrition in a child's upbringing and urged parents to prioritize their children's dietary needs. He noted that many children in rural communities lack access to basic necessities, including food, and that it is essential for individuals and organizations to step in and provide support.

Previously, he and his family donated 50 sets of classroom furniture to basic schools in Ankaase. Additionally, they are currently building a community senior high school for disadvantaged children, providing them with access to quality education and opportunities for a brighter future.

Rose Sarfo, Medical Manager of Vista Associates, reiterated the family's dedication to supporting the Ankaase community. She announced plans to establish an orphanage, providing a safe haven for children who have lost their parents. The family has also been providing financial assistance to support the educational needs of bright but needy children in the area.

During the donation ceremony, Rose Sarfo encouraged parents to focus on their children's upbringing and develop employable skills to secure a better future for their families. She emphasized the importance of community support and urged others to join the Sarfo family in their efforts to make a positive impact in the lives of those in need.
