ECG launches nationwide debt recovery drive with ‘All Must Pay’

The management and union of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) launched the operation “ALL MUST PAY” initiative in Accra on Monday, July 14, a nationwide campaign to recover outstanding customer arrears.

The General Manager of External Communications at ECG, Dr. Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku, told some sections of the media that the 12-day campaign will target all customers, including residential, commercial, industrial, and government sectors.

According to his exact submissions, “special teams will be deployed to ensure compliance, and will closely monitor for any illegal connections or attempts to reconnect power.

ECG has identified unpaid bills as a major challenge to its financial sustainability, and the company is determined to enforce payments.”

Dr. Ayiku proceeded and stressed the importance of timely payments to avoid disconnections and additional reconnection fees.

He also advised customers to use the official ECG Mobile App for secure payments and warned against scammers who promote fake payment methods.

The ALL MUST PAY campaign is crucial for strengthening the financial health of ECG and improving service delivery, ensuring a stable and reliable power supply across the country,” Dr. Ayiku added.

Customers are advised to make payments only through approved channels, such as the ECG Mobile App, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store, or by reaching out to the company’s call centre for further assistance.

He further stated that during this period, ECG would also inspect meter integrity and engage with customers to address any operational concerns.

The company is urging all customers with outstanding bills to settle them promptly to avoid disconnection. For further information, customers are advised to visit ECG’s website or follow its official social media platforms for regular updates.
