MTN’S Adwoa Wiafe To Deliver Keynote Address At Africa Climate Communication Summit

Adwoa Wiafe, the Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer at MTN Ghana, will deliver the keynote address at the Africa Climate Communication Summit 2025 (Virtual Edition). The summit, themed “Towards a Climate Resilient Africa through Strategic Communication”, comes ahead of the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP) in Brazil this November.

As a leading voice in corporate sustainability, Adwoa Wiafe has consistently championed the integration of environmental responsibility with business growth. At MTN Ghana, she has been instrumental in advancing the company’s sustainability pillars, which focus on reducing carbon emissions and adopting green technologies, supporting inclusive community development and digital inclusion, and upholding ethical leadership, transparency, and accountability in business operations.

Her keynote address will highlight how strategic communication can transform climate challenges into shared opportunities, ensuring that messages reach policymakers, businesses, and communities in ways that inspire meaningful action.

The Africa Climate Communication Summit will bring together storytellers, journalists, communication experts, and creative artists from across Africa and beyond, including Benin, Mali, Nigeria, and the United Kingdom. Participants will exchange ideas and share lived experiences, exploring how communication can bridge the gap between science, policy, and the everyday realities of climate change.

Adwoa Wiafe’s keynote is expected to focus on the critical role of the private sector in climate action, linking MTN Ghana’s sustainability journey with Africa’s broader climate agenda. Her contribution will emphasize that business can be a powerful force for good when communication is used to build understanding, trust, and collaboration.

Speaking ahead of the event, Adwoa Wiafe noted:

Climate communication is more than just awareness,  it is about mobilizing action. At MTN Ghana, we are committed to telling Africa’s climate story in a way that empowers people, protects the environment, and secures a sustainable future for generations to come.”

The Summit comes at a critical time, as Africa faces growing climate risks but also demonstrates immense potential to lead with innovation, resilience, and community driven solutions. By putting communication at the heart of climate action, the event calls for

Africa’s story to be told clearly, boldly, and inclusively not as victims, but as key players in shaping a resilient future.

Participation in the Africa Climate Communication Summit 2025 is free and open to all. Interested individuals can register online via: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/o4qyWeJSS_Ky2TGwUXrjEA.
