The Founder and leaders of ALAGUMGUBE and its members have expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the Government of Ghana, the President, and the Minister for Finance, Hon. Cassie Ato Forson, for the decision to construct the long-awaited Upper East Airport.
This development is a testament to the government's commitment to fulfilling its promises and promoting regional development," the group stated. They also thanked their members, led by Founder Gabriel AGAMBILA, for their tireless efforts in ensuring the project's inclusion in the 2026 budget.

The community's support was also acknowledged, particularly Alolga and the community, who helped repair the washed-away culvert leading to the runway. ALAGUMGUBE assured the government of their continued support and promised to work diligently on the remaining documentation to facilitate the project's commencement early next year, in collaboration with Ghana Airport Company.¹
The Upper East Airport project is part of President John Mahama's broader vision to modernize Ghana's transport sector. The project is expected to boost regional development and improve air connectivity in the area
