Jospong Group and UNU-INRA Partner to Drive Africa's Green Economy Transition

 The Jospong Group of Companies and the UN University Institute for Natural Resources in Africa (UNU-INRA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support Ghana’s transition to a green economy. The partnership, announced at COP30 in Belem, Brazil, focuses on waste management, agriculture, and green transitions.

This partnership is a significant step towards achieving not just Ghana but Africa's climate goals, building on Jospong Group's existing initiatives in waste management and environmental sustainability.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Fatima Denton, Director of UNU-INRA, emphasized the importance of technology transfer, saying, "We want decarbonization that's fair, inclusive, and doesn't stall growth." The collaboration aims to bring together green businesses, conduct research, and leverage opportunities for Africa's sustainable development.

The MoU signing ceremony highlights the commitment of both organizations to drive Africa's transition to a green economy and promote sustainable development on the continent.

Betty Brown Nyadu speaking on behalf of Jospong Group explained that the collaboration aims to build capacity and empower Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the green space, as well as enhance research on sustainable development.

This partnership is looking at building capacity to take advantage of this new area and also building capacity so we can help create projects that are community friendly and also empower SMEs who would want to set up green enterprises."

The partnership is expected to benefit not only Jospong Group but also other SMEs in Ghana, focusing on capacity building, research, and sustainable development.

This collaboration is part of Jospong's efforts to promote sustainability and green initiatives, aligning with its mission to improve lives and contribute to national development

E&P takes over Black Volta and Sankofa Gold projects after years of delay
