Algeria Reaffirms Support for Ghana at Revolution Anniversary

 Algeria Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Mourad Louhaidia has reaffirmed the country's commitment to supporting Ghana and Africa.

Speaking at the Algerian 71th revolution day in Ghana, he highlighted Algeria's strong relations with Ghana, citing historical ties and cooperation.

We are proud to have had Ghana as a key partner in our struggle for independence," Ambassador Louhaidia said. "We will continue to support Ghana and Africa in our pursuit of development and self-determination."

Algeria and Ghana have enjoyed strong diplomatic ties, with cooperation in areas such as education, healthcare, and energy. The Ambassador expressed optimism about deepening relations, citing Ghana's development progress.

The minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, in her keynote address also reaffirmed the Ghana's commitment to strengthening relations with Algeria. She highlighted the historical ties between the two nations.

Ghana, under the visionary leadership of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, stood firmly with Algeria during its heroic struggle for independence," Ofosu-Adjare said. "We provided both political and diplomatic support to Algeria's National Liberation Front (FLN), hosting an FLN office in Accra and advocating for Algeria's recognition at the All-African Peoples' Conference in 1958."

The Minister noted that bilateral relations have expanded into key sectors, including education, trade, investment, and defence cooperation. She emphasized Ghana's aim to strengthen trade relations with Algeria under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Ghana looks forward to further strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation that exist between our two countries," Ofosu-Adjare said. "We commend Algeria's continued progress and remarkable strides in advancing socio-economic development while upholding the principles of sovereignty and self-determination."
