The 1975-year group of Christian Methodist Old Students Association (CHRIMOSA '75) have celebrated their Golden Jubilee, marking five decades since they completed their secondary education. The event was a grand affair, with old students gathering from far and wide to reconnect and give thanks.
On Friday, the group held a luncheon to kick-start the celebrations, followed by a church service on Sunday at Rev. Thomas Ernest Bruce Church in Adabraka, Accra. The service was a time of reflection and gratitude, with the old students expressing their appreciation for the blessings in their lives.

During the church service, the group presented Ghc5000 to the church as a token of their appreciation. They also observed a minute's silence in memory of their members who have passed on.
The Golden Jubilee celebrations continued with a luncheon on Sunday afternoon, where old students shared stories of their lives and reminisced about their school days. For some, it was a chance to meet themselves for the first time in 50 years.
The President of CHRIMOSA, Samuel Korboe, in his remark called on alumni to revive and strengthen the association. He emphasized the need for discipline and collective effort to achieve the association's goals.
We have not been able to discipline ourselves when it comes to our old students' formation... Most of us have become just viewers of the platform, read, and then leave it," Korboe said, highlighting the challenges facing the association.

Korboe proposed that younger alumni, particularly those who left school between the 1980s and 1990s, take the lead in reviving the association. "They are the leaders of our society now... Let's give them the opportunity to revive our old students' association," he said.
He mentioned that the association has several projects underway, including the completion of the old students' secretariat and the development of a website to improve communication and networking among alumni. Korboe appealed for support and commitment from alumni to achieve these goals
The headmaster of Christian Methodist Senior High School, Raymond Sedzro, praised the 1975 year group for maintaining strong bonds and gathering to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Sedzro described the relationships formed during secondary school as "one of the most important relationships you can have in your life," noting that character development begins during this period.
I was so impressed to see a group from old students gathering here like this... This is one of the most important relationships you can have in your life," Sedzro said, encouraging the group to continue nurturing their connections.

Catherin Engmann, the The CHRIMOSA '75 Golden Jubilee was a testament to the power of friendship and faith. As the old students dispersed, they left with renewed commitments to stay in touch and continue to support one another and the school. Earlier in the year, they connected the school to internet broadband. They are also credited with erection of modern notice board in the school.
