MTN Ghana has presented Selina Kwakye, a front desk officer, with an electric wheelchair, a gesture that has left her overwhelmed with emotion. "I'm very, very emotional about this because I wasn't expecting it at all," Sandra said, expressing her gratitude in an interview after the presentation.
Another staff also received one of the electric wheelchairs.
Movement has been one of the most difficult things for me... I'm so happy. That would be the word. If there is another word after or beyond happy, I think I'll choose that word," Selina said, highlighting the impact of the gesture on her daily life.
The electric wheelchair will significantly improve Selina 's mobility and independence, allowing her to move around the office and home with greater ease. "This is going to help me a lot... I don't have to follow my friends to help me push myself sometimes," she said.
The company has also added 10 electric vehicles to its fleet as part of its strategy to achieve net zero emissions by 2040. This initiative is part of MTN Ghana's efforts to care for its staff, promote sustainability, and put people first.
