Bank of Baroda, arguably one of the underdogs in the Ghanaian banking industry, is well known and established in India. With just one branch in the country the bank multiplied its profit margin five folds by the end of last year.

Having fulfilled the new minimum capital requirement of the Bank of Ghana, Bank of Baroda plans opening new branch networks in Tema in April, 2012 and another in Kumasi in the course of this year. The bank is further considering opening other branches at Spintex road and Takoradi in the near future. The branch expansion drive will further consolidate the banks efforts at serving its corporate clients without losing focus on retail banking.

The bank prides itself in being efficient and maintains high standards in banking. The bank was the second runner up for best corporate banking in the 2010 Ghana banking Awards. Parent bank of the subsidiary, Bank of Baroda, was voted as India’s best bank in 2010 and was also adjudged as the Best Large Bank- 2011 in India.

The bank always comes forward when it comes to corporate social responsibility, the bank donated in kind to the Osu Children Home, cash scholarship to brilliant students and also contributed in cash to sponsor activities of community policing.

Bank of Baroda Plc has recorded 180 years of uninterrupted profit and its subsidiary is following in the same direction.

The bank has significant international presence with a network of 87 branches/offices in 25 countries including 55 branches/offices of the Bank, 30 branches of its 8 subsidiaries and 2 representative offices in Thailand and Australia. The bank also has a joint venture in Zambia with 14 branches.

The bank has presence in world’s major financial centres i.e. New York, London, Brussels, Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore.

  The Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) has expressed frustration over the challenges faced in securing electricity for schools across the country. During their 62nd Annual Conference, held in Tamale from October 7 to 11, CHASS voiced concerns about the impact of prepaid electricity meters on their operations.
