Lufthansa HelpAlliance Support Kinder Paradise 38,000 Euros

The HelpAlliance, an association made up of committed Lufthansa airline employees has supported Kinder Paradise center at Prampram in the Ga Dangbe District in the Greater Accra Region with amount of 38,000 euros.

Iris Sandhof, Chief of Lufthansa Freight Attendant disclosed this to Business Week during the alliance tour to the center last week.

Sandhof stated that her group is using 30,000 euros to build a kindergarten for the center while 8,000 euros was also used to equip the center computer laboratory.

The German Ambassador to Ghana, Marius Hass who accompanied the team to the center congratulated the employees for setting aside some funds to support the needy in society particularly the center since 2006.

He encourages the HelpAlliance team to continue their good works. On behalf of the German Government, the Ambassador presented the “German Order of Merit” to the founder of the center, Madam Silke Rosner who in her own initiative the center was established ten years ago.

The HelpAlliance’s revenues in 2007 reached 710,365 euros or about 24% more in donations and other revenues than during the preceding year amount of 571,719 euros.

The association project-dedicated donations increased by about 24% to 133,708 euros, compared with 2006 figure of 107,723 euros. In 2007, the group invested 87.4% of the donations used in help and emergency projects.

Kinder Paradise, an orphan’s home was established by a Germen and a Ghanaian in 1998 with less than 20 children. The center now has over 300 orphans made up of youth and children with three branches in Adenta, Osu and Prampram.
