Newmont has supported the University of Ghana Health Services at Legon with a donation of essential medical equipment valued at over GHS 290,000, reinforcing its commitment to safety and strengthening healthcare delivery in Ghana. The equipment was donated following a request from the Internal Medicine Department of the facility, which provides care to a large number of patients, including emergency and critically ill cases. The unit had been facing challenges due to limited medical equipment, affecting workflow efficiency and patient outcomes. Originally established to serve university staff and their dependents, the University of Ghana Health Services facility has, over time, evolved into a district-level hospital.
