Building Green Cities: Experts Call for Better Planning, Waste Recovery and Sustainable Financing

It requires a deliberate transformation of how cities generate energy, manage waste, finance infrastructure, move people and protect natural resources. That was the consensus among policymakers, sustainability experts and development partners during a high-level dialogue on green urban development, where participants stressed that Ghana must move beyond policy ambitions to practical, bankable projects capable of attracting long-term investment. They argued that while Ghana has developed several policies on climate action, energy transition and urban development, implementation remains slow because of inadequate planning, fragmented institutional coordination and limited financing.
