Agbodza orders Wa–Bulenga contractor back to site over shoddy work

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, has directed Aschal Investment Limited, the contractor working on the 37-kilometre Wa–Bulenga Road, to immediately return to site and complete the project.

He warned that the government would not tolerate delays in road projects that have already been awarded, particularly where contractors fail to mobilise to site and deliver on their commitments.

Speaking during a site inspection of the Wa–Bulenga–Yaala Road, the minister expressed concern over the contractor’s poor performance and failure to return to site for more than a year, despite being awarded the contract in 2024.

He therefore instructed the contractor to resume work immediately and take steps to ensure the project is completed within the agreed timeframe.

Tell the contractor to come back to site immediately and remedy all those things. The thing is already failing. It is not rocket science and you don’t have to be an engineer to know that what he has done will fail in no time so call him back to site to address the issue immediately.

“We have no appetite for substandard work.”
