BoG, SEC target 2027 for full implementation of Virtual Asset law

  Government is targeting 2027 for the full operationalisation of its Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2025 (Act 1154), as the Bank of Ghana (BoG) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) work to develop the regulatory framework for the rapidly evolving sector.   Mensah Thompson, Acting Deputy Director General of Operations at the Securities and Exchange Commission, says Ghana is positioning itself to embrace virtual assets and tokenised finance through a regulatory framework designed to encourage innovation while protecting investors and maintaining financial stability.
