Dr. David Tetteh has been elected and sworn in as a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NDC Professionals Forum, in a move seen as strengthening the Forum’s policy and technical capacity.
Dr. Tetteh, a pharmacist and marketing professional, currently serves on the Governing Board of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA). He brings extensive expertise in pharmacy practice, pharmaceutical marketing, and health policy implementation, particularly in support of ongoing reforms within Ghana’s health insurance system.
His election comes at a pivotal time for the Professionals Forum, which is seeking to deepen its engagement in policy formulation, professional mobilisation, and strategic support for the party’s broader national agenda.
Over the years, Dr. Tetteh has held several key roles within the Forum and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), including Branch Chairman, National Operations Coordinator for the Young Professionals Forum, Director of Research for the Western North Regional Communications Bureau, and Constituency Collation Officer during the 2024 general elections.
He has been a strong advocate for sustainable health financing, improved access to essential medicines, and the adoption of evidence-based policies as part of the party’s social democratic vision.
His election, alongside other executives, signals what insiders describe as a renewed commitment by the Forum to leverage the expertise of seasoned professionals with proven track records in research, service, and organisational leadership.
Leading the newly constituted executive team is Prof. Nana Ama Browne Klutse, who was overwhelmingly elected President with 577 votes, representing 91 percent of ballots cast. She currently serves as Chief Executive of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and is expected to steer the Forum toward greater policy relevance and influence.
Other key officers elected include Samuelhans Wauku as First Vice President with 65 percent of the vote, Eben-Kay-Kwabena Hodo as Secretary General with 53 percent, and Dr. Joshua Doe as Deputy Secretary General, who secured 95 percent of votes cast.
In addition, Sophia Ama Otabil was elected to lead the Women’s Commission, while Dr. Robert Doh heads the Youth Commission, both securing over 95 percent of votes.
A total of 636 votes were cast out of 1,385 registered voters, representing a turnout of 45.92 percent.
Analysts say the composition of the new leadership reflects a strategic push by the Professionals Forum to strengthen its policy input and organisational effectiveness as it positions itself to support the NDC’s governance and development agenda.
