Zoomlion to install medical waste management facilities into IRECOP plants across Ghana

Corporate Affairs and Communications Director of Zoomlion, Emma Adwoa Appiaa Osei-Duah has assured medical facilities in the regions that Zoomlion is incorporating medical waste management facilities within the premises of the Integrated Recycling and Compost Plants (IRECOP) being constructed at the regional capitals as a prudent effort to help manage not just municipal waste but also medical waste.

She said her company will endeavour to transform the waste and environmental sanitation sector in Ghana though the construction of morden technologies.

Osei-Duah was addressing the chiefs and people and other relevant stakeholders in the waste and sanitation industry at Wa in the Upper West Region during the dialogue series of that region's turn of the Zoomlion and Graphic Communications Group's sanitation awareness campaign dubbed "Make Ghana Clean".

Earlier on Thursday, Mohammed Mahama Adams who is a Senior Communications Officer of Zoomlion told participants at a similar dialogue forum in the Savannah Regional Capital Damango that a solid waste treatment plant attached to each of the IRECOP is envisioned by Zoomlion.

This means the IRECOP concept which is being replicated in all regions is planned to provide Zoomlion's 360 degrees ultra modern waste management systems agenda.

The Zoomlion and Graphic collaboration is aimed at intensifying awareness creation of environmental sanitation best practices in all the sixteen regions.

Osei-Duah told the expert participants that her company is replicating fifteen waste management plants at all regions which are at various stages of completion.

The programme was climaxed on Saturday with a heavy clean up exercise with several stakeholders including the Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Police Service and other agencies.

Osei-Duah and Sub-Chief Editor of Graphic Alhassan Zakariah were thankful to the participants.
