
President of South Korea, Lee Jae Myung, has expressed confidence that the ongoing visit by Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, will deliver concrete benefits for both nations and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Speaking at a summit in Seoul on Wednesday, March 11, President Lee said he expects the visit to produce tangible outcomes that will positively impact the citizens of both countries.
I hope that President Mahama’s visit to South Korea will serve as an opportunity to generate tangible outcomes of cooperation that the peoples of both countries can truly feel,” President Lee said.
According to reports by Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean leader highlighted the strong partnership that has developed between the two countries over the years.
The two countries have achieved remarkable results in cooperation across various fields, including maritime security, trade and agriculture,” he noted.
President Mahama arrived in South Korea on Tuesday, March 11, for a four-day working visit aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic relations between the two nations.
During the visit, he is expected to hold bilateral discussions with President Lee and meet with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Woo Won-shik.
The talks are expected to focus on expanding collaboration in key sectors such as technology, climate action, trade and economic development.
As part of his itinerary, President Mahama will also meet with Ghanaian students, professionals and residents living in South Korea, providing an opportunity for the diaspora community to interact with the Ghanaian leader and share their experiences.
Officials say the visit is expected to further deepen Ghana–Korea relations and open new avenues for cooperation between the two countries.
