Mends Academy Holds 5th Graduation, Urges Parents to Support Children's Education

 The Director of Mends Academy, Paul Mends, has emphasized the vital role parents play in shaping the future of their children.

Speaking at the school's 5th graduation and prize-giving ceremony, Mends stressed that parental support is essential for academic success.

The school cannot build the future of the kids alone; parents must support us. Parents should motivate and encourage their children in their academics, and not be discouraged if they're not doing well initially. With time and encouragement, they'll do better eventually." - stressed Mends.

The school's participation in the 11th edition of the Bookworm and National Spelling Bee demonstrated the positive impact of parental support, with students achieving outstanding results.

The "Bookworm" competition is an educational program focused on promoting reading among Ghanaian children. It involves various categories like lower primary, upper primary, and JHS, and includes rounds of reading, dictation, and vocabulary tests. Students from Mends Academy were adjudged winner, first runner up, and second runner up in both the upper primary and JHS category.

The schools' girls' prefect, Serttina Ahene, urged parents to take a keen interest in their wards' academic journey, adding that parents should be "silent builders behind the scene," supporting their children's educational endeavors.
