Students graduating from LIMS Preparatory School in the Shai Osudoku District have been encouraged to cultivate big dreams, prepare themselves for leadership and remain committed to hard work as they advance to the next stage of their academic journey.

The call was made by Rita Ofori Twasam , Chairperson of the graduation ceremony and Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Chairperson, during the school's graduation ceremony held in Dodowa.

Addressing graduates, parents and teachers, Twasam said every great achievement begins with a dream, stressing that a clear vision serves as a compass that guides individuals through life's challenges.

She urged the pupils not to allow obstacles to discourage them but to see every setback as an opportunity to learn and grow.

According to her, success is never accidental but the result of focused effort, consistent practice, determination and a positive mindset.

Every great achievement begins with a single bold thought. Dreaming allows us to look beyond our current limitations and see what is possible. It gives us a clear target to pursue and serves as a compass that guides us through challenges." — Rita Twasam Ofori

Twasam emphasized that dreams alone are insufficient without preparation, encouraging the graduates to equip themselves with knowledge, discipline and the right skills to transform their aspirations into reality.

She described leadership as a daily commitment to growth, service and integrity rather than merely holding a position or title.

A dream without a plan is only a wish. When you combine bold imagination with preparation and leadership, success becomes more than a possibility—it becomes your destiny." said the Chairperson.

She reminded the graduates that difficult moments are inevitable but urged them to remain resilient, believe in themselves and continue taking deliberate steps toward achieving their goals.

You are empowered to dream, prepared to lead and destined to succeed. Start today by taking one small step toward your goal and embrace the brighter future ahead." she challenged the learners.

Earlier, the Headmaster of LIMS Preparatory School, Joseph Achea, said the ceremony was organized to celebrate the academic achievements of the learners as they transition to higher levels of education.

He praised the dedication of the teachers, parents and school management for nurturing the pupils academically and morally.

Today, we celebrate our learners for successfully completing this important stage of their education. Their achievement reflects the commitment of our teachers, parents and the entire school community." Achea noted.

Fitch Solutions retains 2025 growth rate projection at 4.2%

Fitch Solutions has reaffirmed its projection that Ghana’s economy will expand by 4.2% in 2025. This estimate slightly exceeds the International Monetary Fund’s forecast of 4% and the World Bank’s projection of 3.9%. The UK-based research firm attributes its outlook to historically high gold prices, which are expected to cushion the Ghanaian economy against a global slowdown triggered by rising tariffs. Higher gold prices are anticipated to strengthen government revenue, enhance foreign exchange earnings, and help sustain currency stability. The report also highlights that Ghana is relatively less vulnerable to increasing trade restrictions from the United States, given that its primary exports—gold and crude oil—are not directly affected by the tariffs introduced by President Trump’s administration. Moreover, the US constitutes only about 4% to 5% of Ghana’s total exports. In contrast, Ghana’s trade relations are more heavily oriented toward China and European countries, particul...

BoG injects $20m into FX market to support 11 BDCs

The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has injected $20 million into the foreign exchange market in the latest round of its forward FX auction targeted at Bulk Oil Distribution Companies (BDCs). The intervention, which benefited eleven BDCs, is part of the central bank’s broader strategy to stabilise the cedi and ensure price stability in the petroleum downstream sector. Held on Tuesday, April 29, the auction was priced at a locked exchange rate of GHS 14.28 to the US dollar, with bid offers ranging from GHS 13.85 to GHS 15.55. This move reflects the BoG’s continued effort to deepen forex liquidity and safeguard the domestic fuel supply chain against volatility in global energy markets. By directly supplying FX to BDCs, the central bank seeks to ease pressure on the interbank market, guarantee the uninterrupted flow of petroleum products, and mitigate the pass-through effects of exchange rate fluctuations on fuel prices. The $20 million disbursement forms part of a $120 million programme for th...
