Prudential Bank, MasterCard Collaborate to Support SMEs, Corporates With Innovative Solutions


 Prudential Bank Limited, an indigenous Bank and MasterCard, a leading digital payment and collections enabler have renewed their pledge to support Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Corporates with innovative propositions to support their businesses.

This strategic collaboration was revealed when a delegation from Mastercard paid a courtesy call on the management of Prudential Bank at the Bank’s head office in Accra.

The engagement provided a platform for both institutions to align on strategic priorities for 2026 and explore deeper collaboration across Corporate Banking, SME, personal banking empowerment, and digital payments solutions.

Speaking at the meeting, Mastercard's Country Director, Bossman Kwapong, emphasized the importance of understanding Prudential Bank's vision for the year ahead.

Prudential Bank remains a strategic partner to Mastercard. As the year begins, it is important to understand their needs and look at areas we can collaborate. This engagement allowed us to align on the Bank's 2026 objectives and identify how we can support in bringing that vision to life," he said.

Acting Managing Director, Ebow Quayson, reaffirmed the Bank's commitment to leveraging technology for customer benefit. He noted that the partnership with Mastercard would enable the Bank to deliver secure, convenient, and innovative payment solutions to its diverse clientele.

Executives from both entities took turns to address the session which discussed propositions for SMEs, Corporates, personal banking, cyber security awareness and fraud prevention among others.

This alignment between Prudential Bank and Mastercard reflects a shared commitment to innovation, digital transformation and inclusive growth. By combining Mastercard’s global payments expertise with Prudential Bank’s strong local presence and corporate relationships, the partnership is well positioned to unlock new opportunities for businesses, empower SMEs and further strengthen Ghana’s evolving digital financial ecosystem.

The Mastercard delegation included Vice Presidents Idriss Damiri, Services Business Development; Morocco; Unwana Esang, Services Business Development, Lagos, Nigeria; Grace Adu-Okyere, Director of Account Management; and George Opoku, Manager of Account Management.

On the Prudential side included Edward Commey, Executive Head, Corporate and Institutional Banking; Charles Ofori, Head Personal Banking; Frederick Adomako-Ansah, Head Commercial Banking, Zibrim Mohammed, Head Transactional Banking, Florence Boahene, Head, Cash Management & Trade Sales Unit and representatives from the Bank’s Marketing and Corporate Affairs as well as Digital Transformation Departments.

E&P takes over Black Volta and Sankofa Gold projects after years of delay
