The Ghana Chamber of Mines has welcomed the Government’s latest intervention to resolve the impasse surrounding Adamus Resources Limited, describing the agreement as a significant step towards restoring the operations of the mine.
In a statement issued in Accra on Friday, August 21, 2026, the Chamber said it supported the agreement to implement a 12-month roadmap aimed at turning around the mine, with the process to be supported by a six-member joint management team.
According to the Chamber, the collaborative approach demonstrates the government and stakeholders’ commitment to dialogue, investor confidence and the preservation of productive mining assets.
The Chamber said the successful revival of Adamus Resources was particularly important because it is one of Ghana’s few indigenous large-scale mining operations.
It noted that restoring the mine would help protect jobs, sustain local businesses and host communities, and preserve the company’s contribution to government revenue and the broader mining value chain.

It commended the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and the leadership of the Minerals Commission for their efforts in finding what it described as a practical way forward to resolve the impasse.
The Chamber also acknowledged Adamus Resources Limited for its constructive engagement throughout the process.
Call for commitment to roadmap
The Ghana Chamber of Mines urged all parties involved to maintain transparency, accountability and commitment to the agreed roadmap.
It said particular attention must be given to addressing outstanding liabilities and securing the investment required to ensure the sustainable operation of the mine.
The Chamber stressed that the successful implementation of the roadmap would be critical to restoring confidence in the mine and securing its long-term contribution to Ghana’s economy.

The latest development follows efforts by the government and other stakeholders to resolve the challenges surrounding Adamus Resources and establish a sustainable framework for the continued operation of the mine.
As the industry’s main association, the Ghana Chamber of Mines represents companies engaged in mineral exploration, production and processing in Ghana.
