Zoomlion Ghana Limited has assured workers engaged under the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) Fumigation Project that all legitimate outstanding salary arrears will be paid once the company receives the funds due under the project.
The assurance follows growing concerns among workers over delays in the payment of their salaries.
In a statement issued on Monday, August 3, 2026, management of Zoomlion acknowledged the difficulties caused by the payment delays and said it was working with the government and the various MMDAs to resolve the matter.
Management wishes to assure all affected workers that the company fully appreciates the challenges associated with the delay and remains committed to ensuring that every legitimate outstanding payment is made as soon as the necessary funds are received,” the company said.
Zoomlion explained that the current situation was due to delays in the release of funds under the MMDA Fumigation Project, describing it as an exception to its record of meeting its obligations to employees and field operatives over the past 15 years.
According to the company, it has been in continuous discussions with the government and the MMDAs to secure the release of the outstanding funds.
These engagements have been constructive, and we have received assurances that the necessary processes are being finalized to enable disbursement of the funds,” Zoomlion stated.
The company gave a firm commitment that workers would not lose their outstanding entitlements once the funds are released.
All arrears owed to our workers under the project will be settled promptly once these outstanding payments are received,” management stressed.
Zoomlion also expressed appreciation to the affected workers for their patience and continued commitment despite the financial difficulties caused by the delays.
We recognise the hardship any delay in payment can cause, and we do not take their continued commitment for granted,” the company said.
It noted that the workers' efforts had contributed significantly to public health and environmental sanitation through sustained vector control activities in communities across the country.
The company also acknowledged the right of workers to peacefully express their concerns and appealed to them to remain calm while engagements with the relevant government institutions continue.
Zoomlion also recognizes and respects the constitutional right of workers to express their concerns peacefully,” the statement said.
Management said it was encouraged that the concerns raised by the workers reflected a common desire to see the issue resolved and urged them to continue to have confidence in the ongoing discussions.
Zoomlion further reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining its partnership with the government, MMDAs and its workforce to improve environmental sanitation and public health outcomes.
Management remains confident that the current challenge will soon be resolved through continued dialogue and cooperation,” the company stated.
The company said it remained committed to the welfare of its employees and to providing environmental sanitation services in support of Ghana's national development.
